Three Sydney bars named among the world’s best in 2020

Three Aussie establishments have been named in a list of the World’s Best bars.

All three are in the Sydney CBD.

The 12th edition of the annual bar ranking, 50 Best Bars, features watering holes from 23 countries.

The top Australian Bar, Maybe Sammy, in the Rocks is best known for smooth cocktails and elegant decor.

It was ranked number 11 in the word on the list of the World’s Best Bars, up from number 49 in 2019.

Cantina OK! came in at number 28 and Bulletin Place at number 39.

The best bar in the world

London’s Connaught Bar clinched the title of the world’s best bar in 2020.

“Under the masterful leadership of Agostino Perrone, the venue’s Director of Mixology, Connaught Bar stays true to its principles of presenting artful drinks with graceful service in an elegant setting,” The World’s Best Bars said in a statement announcing the win.

The Connaught is know for its unique Martini trolley, where bartenders give a personalised drinks experience to guests.

Last year’s winner Dante, in New York, came in at number 2 this year.

The Clumsies, Athens, came in at number 3 on the list of the World’s best bars and Singapore’s Atlas came in at number 4.
