The women’s ready-to-wear line is inspired by the Arabian Desert.
The Luxury Collection and Sofia Sanchez de Betak, a New York-based art director and fashion consultant, have announced the launch of an exclusive capsule collection inspired by Emirati art and culture.
The 54-piece CHUFY x The Luxury Collection: Dubai’s design narrative is centered around the UAE’s national animal, the oryx, a local antelope species, and is influenced by the natural surroundings of Al Maha, a Luxury Collection Desert Resort & Spa and Grosvenor House, a Luxury Collection Hotel, in which Sofia stayed during her inspiration journey.
The collection includes an array of ready-to-wear separates, with sumptuous fabrics in a rich colour palette. Greens, browns and reds are mixed with golden embroidery and vibrant oranges, yellows and blues to reflect the striking desert landscapes. Iconic Emirati motifs – such as oryx, camels and palm trees – appear in the playful patterns of the clothing. The exclusive collection features a range of pieces perfectly suited for the balmy climate of Dubai, including lightweight blouses, kaftans and tunics, and flowing pants and jumpsuits that are perfectly suited for days spent exploring in the sun, while ankle-grazing skirts and dresses and coats and sweaters in lighter knots can be layered for the cooler desert nights.
This marks the second fashion collaboration between The Luxury Collection and Sofia Sanchez de Betak, following the success of CHUFY x The Luxury Collection: Japan, a 36-piece capsule collection whose muse was the vibrant confluence of modernity and tradition in Japanese culture.
