For travellers who seek the finest that the world has to offer

Shinta Mani Mustang is the Himalayan retreat you’ve been waiting for

The first Shinta Mani Hotel outside Cambodia, Shinta Mani Mustang is scheduled to open its doors in March 2023.

Nestled in what’s known as The Forbidden Kingdom, the gateway to Tibet, Shinta Mani Mustang is set to welcome guests from March next year.

Award-winning designer Bill Bensley, the creative genius behind leading luxury resorts around the world, is behind the project. He’s bringing his usual art, upcycling and flare to the project, to connect the dramatic landscapes from outside within.

The retreat is situated within the magical Himalayan region. The area is best known for its rich Buddhist culture and having some of the world’s highest snow-capped peaks. This includes the formidable Mount Nilgiri.

Shinta Mani Mustang

Shinta Mani Mustang – A Bensley Collection will be an all-inclusive experience that provides the most remarkable 360-degree, luxury experience in the Himalayas.

“Mustang” in Tibetan, translates to “Plain of Aspiration” and is bordered by the Tibetan plateau with an elevation that rises from 1,372 to 8,167 meters above sea level.

Each of the 29 suites measuring 45 square meters (2,484 square feet), are designed in the style of a traditional Tibetan home with an open-plan bedroom combined with a living area and a separate bathroom.

Floor-to-ceiling windows offer majestic views of the Nilgiri mountain.

Design and Sustainability

Before its official opening, design genius Bill Bensley is adding his creative magic to the mountain Lodge, bringing a unique verve to a location that remains untouched.

Interiors will incorporate warm-coloured fabrics and materials to reflect the rich tones of the surrounding landscape, which can be viewed from every window of the Lodge.

Inside, every area will be complemented by the artwork of the late artist Robert Powell. He was a friend of Bill’s who drew the regions vernacular architecture in incredible detail. In his typical upcycling style and with his sustainable mindset, Bill has used recycled materials that he has repurposed into unique new furniture.
