Qantas Frequent Fliers have a rare opportunity to reach the coveted gold status this month.
In November to December 2020, Qantas targetted frequent fliers from other airlines promising to status match if they made the move to the Australian airline.
The Qantas Status Fast Track offered 90 days of Qantas Gold Status perks including lounge access and extra checked baggage.
Frequent Fliers who took up the offer could also earn Gold Status by earning just 100 status credits within those 90 days.
How to get gold status
If you took up the Qantas Status Fast track offer and you’re yet to take the flights, we have some good news.
You can now obtain Gold with just 50 Qantas status credits.
On March 25, Qantas began a double Status Credits promotion. The bonus applies to all domestic flights.
Signature Media understands that Qantas has emailed successful applicants who registered for the Status Fast Track to let them know they do qualify to earn double status points.
That means you can reach Gold Qantas Status with just one flight in business class.
The flights that could net you Gold are Sydney to Cairns or Melbourne to Cairns.
You could also book a return flight on flexible economy on the same routes to earn your 50 status credits.
You have to be quick though – the promotion ends on March 30. You will need to book ASAP.
