The newest ship by MSC Cruises, the MSC Grandiosa boasts a number of extravagant features, including the luxurious MSC Yacht Club
The much-anticipated debut of the MSC Grandiosa was marked by a spectacular line-up of celebration, starting with a four-day christening on 9 November in Hamburg, Germany. Dramatic light installations by Michael Batz and an ‘MSC Village’ on the banks of the River Elbe were just some of the remarkable events that took place during the course of the christening, with a celebratory firework display marking her official naming. The largest and longest christening event in MSC Cruises’ history seemed only appropriate given that the flagship is their most environmentally advanced to date.
The MSC Grandiosa houses the cruise line’s ship-within-a-ship luxury product, the MSC Yacht Club which promises equal helpings of elegance and opulence. Guests of the Yacht Club can choose to stay in either the Royal, Deluxe or Interior Suites and will have access to the stylish One Pool Deck, with its own private pool, sundeck and bar. Amenities such as the 24-hour butler service and complimentary access to the Thermal Suite in the MSC Aurea SPA are the icing on the cake for this exclusive experience.
Guests of all ages can expect to have their desires met on board, with a 93-metre Mediterranean Promenade, an immersive art experience and a dedicated children’s area designed in collaboration with Chicco and LEGO all within arm’s reach. The cruise also puts on two new and original shows from Cirque du Soleil at Sea, exclusive to MSC Cruises guests.
Over the course of November, MSC Grandiosa celebrated across 27 days, eight countries and 11 ports, finally commencing a regular schedule of seven-night cruises on 23 November.
