Kokomo Private Island has teamed up with renowned Chef Lennox Hastie of Gildas and Firedoor, Australia’s only fully wood-fired restaurant, to curate a unique culinary adventure on the island in 2024.
The three-night gourmet experience will take place from the 8th to the 11th of February, seamlessly blending the island’s pristine natural beauty and produce with Chef Lennox Hastie’s culinary mastery to create an extraordinary journey for foodies.

Sitting on the edge of the unpopulated tropical Kadavu archipelago, encircled by the pristine Great Astrolabe Reef – one of the largest and most immaculate reefs in the world, Kokomo Private Island is a true paradise, a sanctuary for families and an idyllic escape for couples. A venture straight from the hearts of the Walker family, the resort was founded by Australian property developer Lang Walker AO, who transformed it into a tropical oasis with a deep commitment to preserving the island’s environment. A driving passion that has shaped the island experience and been central to its success has been his desire to deliver unforgettable culinary experiences that are respectful of their paradise setting.
A taste of Kokomo culinary experience
The adventure begins with a welcome dinner for island guests created by Lennox and Kokomo Private Island’s Head Chefs Andy Bryant, and Caroline Oakley. Set against the magical backdrop of the beach at sunset, this is a feast that pays homage to beautiful local ingredients, telling a subtle story of flavours, textures and aromas of produce cooked over embers.
The next day, guests dive into the world of gastronomic artistry at Lennox’s exclusive masterclass, to be held at the Dravuni Grand Residence on Kokomo Private Island. Here, guests will uncover the secrets of culinary alchemy as Lennox generously shares his insider tips and kitchen wisdom, with the added pleasure of his signature snacks.
On the third day, there is a ‘desert island luncheon’, prepared over an open fire on the nearby and very secluded Namara Private Island, hosted by Lennox and Kokomo’s head chef Andy.
