Kingsford The Barossa is a private retreat on the edge of the world-famous Barossa Valley wine region in South Australia and a short 45 minutes from Adelaide CBD.

It is exquisite and exclusive – comprising of 225 acres of rolling pasture and deep creeks but accommodating just 32 guests over 16 suites. At its heart is an original 1856 homestead that offers eight elegant and generously proportioned suites.

An impressive new lodge now compliments the original homestead following a recent multimillion-dollar redevelopment by owners Stefan and Leanne Ahrens. The new lodge includes exclusive bars, dining and event spaces to indulge guests in what the Barossa does best – fine wine and artisan-grown produce.

Original Homestead

Kingsford The Barossa offer a selection of eight original Homestead. The selection is compiled of six king and two queen rooms.

Each of the Homestead Suites have their own unique style and layout. What they all have in common is that luxury comfort was at the forefront of their design.

Matilda King Suite

Also known as the Bridal Suite, the 73 square-metre Matilda King suite features a custom made four-poster king-size bed and two gas fireplace. 

Level up the luxury with a soak in the suite’s dramatic free standing bath. The surprising and spacious marbled ensuite also features twin rain-head showers.

Immerse yourself in the beauty of Barossa Valley when you open the French doors of your private veranda – the quintessential Australian landscape awaits.

Ahrens Suite

On the ground level of the Homestead, this spacious 45 square-metre king room is the sister suite to the Bridal Suite.

Spacious, elegant, comfortable and luxurious. Ahrens Suite is blend of contemporary and sophisticated design. Fitted with high end furnishings, king bed and a walk-in wardrobe. 

Unwind from a day of wine-tasting in the deluxe rain-head shower – the star of the space’s double vanity marbled bathroom.

View Suites

The new Kingsford extension is complete with four amazing View Suites. All suites are east facing, ensuring guests uninterrupted views of The Barossa’s rolling hills.

Early risers will enjoy a stunning Barossa sunrise and quite possibly a glimpse of the local kangaroos.

Each suite is lavishly appointed with lounge area, king bed and all the latest ‘smart suite’ controls. A television even rises from the floor at the foot of the bed as if by magic. Ultra-modern ensuite bathrooms complete this very relaxing environment. Relish at sundown with a beverage in hand in your very own private courtyard.

Stonemasons Cottage

Hand-built by and for the craftsmen who worked on the main building, the Stonemason’s Cottage is an original 19th century structure and separate from the homestead.

With its own courtyard, it offers extra space and privacy. It features an intimate lounge room with gas fireplace, a separate bedroom with a king bed, a double sofa bed and a sumptuous bathroom with large double shower and an oval bath.

Meg’s Three-Bedroom Cottage

Despite its quaint name Meg’s three-bedroom cottage oozes luxury and style. It features three king rooms, all with unsuited bathrooms, a shared kitchenette and private alfresco entertaining area.

Sold as the whole cottage, it is the ideal setting for a family getaway, friends’ weekend or small corporate group filled with good company and good times.

Dining at Kingsford The Barossa

Set next to the pool and Kingsford’s Peppertree is the Peppertree Bar. The perfect mix of relaxation and indulgence, the exclusive alfresco bar offers guests versatility. A casual wood oven Pizza or lamb on the spit can be arranged with chefs and serviced from this space.

Orleana Restaurant and 1856 Lodge Bar brings to guests ‘Barossa on a plate and in a glass’. The exclusive in-house guest restaurant celebrates seasonal local produce and focuses on guest experience.

Wine tunnel and vaults

Kingsford has made a name for itself as one of the most luxurious Australian retreats by including offerings you simply won’t find elsewhere.

Kingsford The Barossa’s new Wine Vault features a 21-metre long table perfect for functions of up to 70 people. It also includes six individual vaulted wine chambers, among the artisan-crafted bluestone. The unique addition to the Kingsford experience represents the very best of New World wines, showcasing the very best of the region, with a special focus on Barossa and Eden Valley winemakers.

Kegelbahn and pool

The exclusive Kingsford experiences continue with the Kegelbahn, available to in-house guests. ‘Kegel’ is German for skittles. It came to the Barossa in the 19th Century and survives to this day. The game features nine pins that you knock down with a wooden bowling ball. The challenge and fun of our fully automated Kegelbahn is hard to resist. A lively location where skills are tested and friendships forged – and occasionally, where skills are forged and friendships tested.

There’s no place better to unwind, relax and enjoy the decadence of Kingsford than at our Peppertree Pool and Bar facility. Guests are welcomed to float away in our salt water pool, protected by a peppertree, its namesake, and screened by a historic portion of wall made out of rough stone. The peppertree bar makes for the perfect sundowner.

Getting there

‘Hidden away, easy to find’ – Kingsford The Barossa is a 50-minute drive from Adelaide CBD.

Heading north, follow A2 South Rd and connect to the M2 North-South Motorway, M2 Northern Expressway and Continue off onto the A20 Sturt Hwy.

Kingsford Road is a short 2km along this road, where you will find the entrance gates to Kingsford The Barossa on the right.
