With 250 guestrooms and eight suites, seven restaurants and bars, a fitness centre, a private beach and pool, a spa and a cinema, Hotel Barriere Le Majestic Cannes has become a destination itself. Located on the Croisette opposite the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, the hotel offers breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea and surrounding locale. Frequented by the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro, the property is the stay of choice for A-listers and travellers alike.

Architecture and design

Built by English hotelier Henri Ruhl, Hotel Barriere Le Majestic is a palatial Art Deco building designed by Parisian architect Theo Petit. Carrara and red Pyrenees marble feature prominently throughout the hotel, which has undergone further refurbishments and renovations over the past century. French designer Jacques Garcia is responsible for many of the guestrooms, while the lobby was crafted by The Danan interior design agency with lighting styled by Sylvie Maréchal. Furnishings throughout the hotel have been selected and manufactured by Henryot, and an artwork by renowned artist Francis Di Signora takes pride of place in the entry.

Culinary experiences

Fine dining and culinary exploration take centre stage at Hotel Barriere Le Majestic Cannes. Fouquet’s is a restaurant and bar serving up a Parisian brasserie-style menu of French classics. Bfire by Mauro Colagreco at La Plage is the place to while away long afternoons with wood-fired food, a large shaded terrace and panoramic coastal views. Paradiso brings a touch of Italy to the French Riviera with a sun-drenched alfresco scene designed by Italian architects, Vudafieri-Saverino Partners, and a menu of Italian dishes. Visit Mademoiselle Gray Plage Barriere for Lebanese-inspired food by the beach in a bohemian setting.

For those seeking quiet sundowners, or who want to kick on after a long night of dining with friends, there are three bars to choose from. The Lobby Bar is an elevated cocktail lounge, the Bisous Bisous Club is where night owls go when dinner wraps up, and La Terrasse Piscine is a poolside retreat for afternoon drinks with refreshments.

Sublime location

Hotel Barriere Le Majestic Cannes is ideally located for exploring the sights, sounds and flavours of the French Riviera. Visiting Forville Market is a fantastic way to start the day. Meet the local producers, sample the fresh food and snaffle some freshly cut herbs for your cooking endeavours. After fueling up, spend the afternoon parasailing, wakeboarding, paddle boarding or fly fishing at the Plage du Majestic jetty with the help of a certified instructor. Those looking to spend some quiet time in nature should head towards the Lerins Islands, accessed via a short boat ride from the Croisette.

Keen snorkellers will find an underwater wonderland at Cannes Underwater Eco Museum, an underwater sculpture gallery by Jason DeCaires Taylor hidden three to five metres below the waves. Aspiring perfumiers can join a perfume workshop and create their signature scent with the guidance of a professional ‘Nose’.
