Christian Louboutin opens Egyptian-inspired boutique in Melbourne

The Collins Street store is the brand’s eighth boutique in Australia.

Housed within The George Building, the 95-square-metre Christian Louboutin Melbourne Collins St is a geometric wonderland of bright pops of colour and quirky Egyptian-inspired features. The brand-new store is bathed in natural light through the high glazed façade and, as a nod to the origins of the Maison, features wallpaper and carpet in signature stiletto red.

Inspired by Mr Loutboutin’s very own dahabiya in Egypt, the store combines airy space and colourful alcoves to give the overall feel of a cosy nook. Designed to be reminiscent of an entrance deck, the first room’s main feature is the natural fabric floating from the ceiling, evoking a boat’s sailcloth. The leather goods area – a boat cabin – includes an antique sofa and large mirrors, and the furniture is embellished with natural fabrics such as bamboo, papyrus and straw.

A selection of exclusives styles will be offered at the Christian Louboutin store, alongside new season shoes and accessory collections for both women and men.
