Brady Hotels Jones Lane: Mixing art with business

Everything there is to know about the new boutique hotel in the heart of Melbourne’s East End Theatre District.

Melbourne’s in the midst of an accommodation boom and one of the latest to open its doors to guests is Brady Hotels Jones Lane. The boutique hotel, now just two months old, is the second hotel in the Brady Group portfolio to open in Melbourne.

Central location

The perfect location for a weekend break or mini getaway, here they seem to focus on getting out and enjoying all that Melbourne has to offer. Located on the corner of Little Lonsdale Street and Jones Lane, the hotel is nearby many of the city’s best restaurants and a quick stroll to plenty of shopping, including the Emporium Melbourne, QV Melbourne and Melbourne Central Shopping. Theatre-goers will also enjoy the proximity to the city’s East End Theatre District, home to six historic theatres all within walking distance of one another.

“We wanted to build a hotel that complemented Melbourne … a hotel that encourages guests to go out and explore everything that is Melbourne,” said hotel general manager Robert Moore.

Accommodation and amenities

Guest rooms are modern and fresh, kitted out with king size Dreamer bed, large walk-in showers and openable windows.

Moore added that guests might be surprised to discover just how cosy the rooms are. “Our beds are fitted with mattresses literally fit for a queen. In fact, our mattress supplier, Hypnos, also supplies to all of the royal residences including Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle.”

Guest rooms are perfectly sized for a couple or a business traveller staying solo. On site you’ll find a gym, guest laundry and a cafe open from morning to late afternoon. However, when it comes to dining, here they do things a bit differently: there’s no in-house restaurant, the hotel instead creating a clever in-room dining menu that is essentially a ‘best of’ local eats – giving guests the chance to recharge in their rooms while also enjoying local fare.

The 4.5-star Brady Hotels Jones Lane is built alongside Wesley Place, a new Melbourne communal, green space landmark that’s only a few minutes’ walk away, and situated within the city’s free tram zone, ideal for leisure and business travellers alike.

The Brady Group’s two properties focus on immersing yourself in a great location from which to explore Melbourne. It’s a premise they hope to grow with future hotels in Melbourne.

“We are always looking for sites around Melbourne to grow into and hope to be able to announce something in the coming months,” finished Moore.
