Meet Blue Ginger Picnics, the award-winning company bringing whimsy to outdoor dining
The Tweed Region start-up wins silver for New Tourism Business at the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards
The innovative tourism venture founded by local entrepreneur, Tania Usher, showcases the Tweed’s individuality by creating elegant outdoor dining experiences that tell the story of the region’s stunning locations, rich Indigenous and historical culture, local businesses and delicious fresh produce.
Whether Blue Ginger Picnics guests are celebrating an anniversary, birthday, proposal, elopement or ladies’ lunch, Tania says that every story inspires the company to create meaningful experiences that enable guests to reconnect with nature, the food they eat and each other.
Collaborating with like-minded local businesses has enabled the start-up to grow a loyal and supportive group of suppliers, mentors and clients.
Celebrating the emerging tourism trends of location, community and authenticity, the 34th Australian Tourism Awards were presented in front of 800 guests under a marquee at the spectacular Cataract Gorge in Tasmania.
At the awards, Federal Tourism Minister Simon Birmingham said that Australian’s unique tourism offerings entice new visitors and inspire tourism operators to keep themselves at the cutting edge of amazing global experiences.
The NSW Business Chamber says they are proud to have tourism operators like Blue Ginger Picnics, who create and maintain high standards of operation that visitors to NSW can enjoy.
Daniel Gschwind, Chair of the Australian Tourism Awards, congratulated Blue Ginger Picnics and the other finalists from across Australia.
