For travellers who seek the finest that the world has to offer

Best Bar of the Year

Charlie, the name on the lips of all modish Bali pilgrims, has been crowned the ‘Yak Best Bar of the Year’.

Charlie is classic, chic and an impressive segue chameleon, seamlessly transitioning from a European-style restaurant in the evenings to a dance lounge come a weekend eve. At no point do the venue’s three-storeys of chandelier-clad curtained alcoves miss a beat.

Executive Chef, Meidy Zuhri, with a penchant for hearty bistro-esque selections and meats in all forms, has rubbed shoulders with some of the world’s best, including Alain Passard of the three Michelin-starred L’Arpѐge. And while food is a standout, being an award-winning bar, the drinks are unsurprisingly a well-executed affair. From a huge block of ice at the bar’s focal point, bartenders carve off great slabs, concocting Charlie’s signature takes on classic cocktails around it. Not to be missed is the house-made, rose petal-infused speciality spirits.

The whole experience screams VIP and is bound to have visitors immediately organising their return Bali getaway.

For those who cannot get to Bali soon enough, Charlie has provided Signature with a key for enjoying a slice of the bar’s delights in your own home. Follow the recipe below for a divine vodka cocktail:

Raspberry Martini

45ml vodka
9 raspberries (frozen or fresh)
